SRA Code of Conduct (Firms): For Staff

Overview

This short course explains how the SRA Code of Conduct for Firms applies to non-authorised employees working in SRA-regulated law firms, including administrators, support staff and paralegals. Through expert-led guidance, realistic scenarios, and interactive exercises, learners explore what is expected of them around fairness, confidentiality, competence, compliance systems, and escalation. Staff who handle client funds will be able to take additional content outlining their duties when dealing with client money or assets. The course highlights how individual actions contribute to firm-wide compliance and public trust, and what to do when something goes wrong. It provides practical guidance for staff on recognising risks, following firm procedures, and knowing when they reach the limits of their role and need to speak up.
