Someone has to paint the Eiffel Tower, and someone needs to clean the windows on the top of those massive rockets they keep sending into orbit, so the astronauts can see where they’re going. Hopefully, the brave souls who do those jobs have been trained properly about working at height. After all, gravity doesn’t negotiate.

Working at height is one of the biggest causes of serious workplace injuries. You could be working on a roof, standing on a ladder, or just working near a ledge. Under the Work at Height Regulations 2005, any work at height must be properly planned, supervised, and carried out safely. That means identifying risks, choosing the right controls, and understanding your responsibilities before anyone even leaves the ground.

• Recognise the APM principles, so you can select appropriate protection when working at height
• Recognise your responsibilities when working at height, so you can comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005

Why should I take this course

This course is for anyone who works at height or will work at height, as well as supervisors, managers, and other people responsible for those who do. It explains what legally counts as working at height, shows you how to identify hazards and assess risks properly, and introduces the APM principles. If someone could fall and be hurt in your workplace, then this course matters.
