Dyspraxia/DCD

Overview

All students learn in unique ways and require different support to thrive in the educational environment. This includes children with Developmental Coordination Disorder or dyspraxia. Many children with dyspraxia aren’t diagnosed until after the age of five, so you may work with students who haven’t been diagnosed but do require additional support. How can you identify students who might have dyspraxia and empower them to participate fully in your classroom?

Developing your understanding of the symptoms of dyspraxia will help you spot children who may require tailored support. You can make sure your classroom is inclusive and supportive by adjusting your approach to teaching, so you can support students with dyspraxia. There are also some handy strategies that you can apply to help you put all this into practice.
