Overview

This course, Summarising Data in Excel, is a strategic dive into efficiently condensing and analysing vast datasets. You will learn to harness Excel's robust features for data summarisation, transforming raw information into meaningful insights.

You will develop an understanding of the functions required to extract statistics, such as the average, minimum, and maximum values from a selected range of cells. You will learn how to use the COUNTIF and SUMIF functions to count and sum items that meet specific criteria.

• Summarise data by working out basic totals, grouping data together and counting cells to work out how many entries there are to understand and interpret data effectively.  
• Use functions to extract some common statistics, such as the average, minimum, and maximum values from a selected range of cells.
• Use the COUNTIF and SUMIF functions to count and sum only items that meet certain criteria.  
• Summarise data using advanced formulas such as SUMPRODUCT to perform two operations in one.
• Use SUMIFS to add two or more tests as the criteria for what is included in the sum.
