Emotional Intelligence

Course Overview

Research shows that emotional intelligence is a vital workplace skill. People with high levels of emotional intelligence perform better in their jobs, and feel happier at work. They interact well with their colleagues, listening carefully, showing empathy and resolving conflicts. They are more successful at dealing with stress and keeping cool under pressure, which means they can make better decisions when faced with a problem. They also make the best leaders, using their emotional intelligence to understand, support, and effectively motivate others.

This course starts by explaining the concept of emotional intelligence and why it is so important. We then set out the four core skills which make up emotional intelligence, ranging from self-awareness to relationship management.

Then we take a more detailed look at each of these four key skills in turn. The course explains why each of the skills are useful in the workplace, and how they link together and build on each other. For each skill, we show the learner how they can develop and improve their own abilities and become a more emotional intelligent worker.

This microlearning course is an animated video, with audio narration and a multiple-choice post-assessment.
